Perth is a city where I have a blast vacation with my family, just driving around and have fun! It wasn't a rush trip as before, imagine planning the itinerary on the dot and follow with the flow. Here are 10 places you can visit during your Perth trip!
I've talked about where to shop in Perth before, but today I will show you more about the attractions that you must discover. If you're more suggestions other than this list, leave on the comment down below!
Leggo to the first adventure! |
1. Rottnest Island
If you're planning to skydive, meeting the quokka and just seeking calmness, Rottnest Island is for you. Personally, I have a little bit of regret because I spend around 2 hours only around the island which is not enough. So yeap, spend your time there just chillin' and don't rush out a beautiful scenery.
For more info: Rottnest Island
Getting there: By boat - buy your Rottnest Express same day return at Klook
Transportation around the island: Rent your bike at Rottnest Island Pedal & Flipper. Afternoon rate is $16 with a $50 deposit.
Parking: E-shed (paid)

2. Fremantle City & Market
Since it's near to the harbor, we just paid enough parking and walk to Freemantle Markets. Along the road, I can feel very artsy and the building is just breathe taking! I love how they kept the heritage and can you imagine Ben & Jerry's is located in one of the building? #awesomeIf you're a fan of food and arts, this market is for you. Plus, you can also buy an Australia souvenir at Megabes!
For more info: City of Fremantle
Getting there: 13 min talk from E-shed
Expenses: Ben & Jerry's ice cream - $7.50, Macaroon - $5.00

3. Fishing Boat Harbor (Bathers Beach)
I really like beaches and when I found one, I will cherish the moment! There are actually plenty of bars and eateries close by Bathers Beach like Kailis' Fish Market Cafe. One pro tip that I can give is please come here and watch the sunset, post-sunset also can!

4. Perth City
This section will be a long explanation because we've got Hay Street, Murray Street, and Elizabeth Quay but no worries I will try to make as simple as possible! Basically, you can enjoy Perth City with their free buses but watch out their operating times as most of them only operate until 6.00 PM.
Since we drive, what we did is we came here during weekend only because we found a $10 parking spot and shop there. I found one clothing store that makes me fall in love and wants to come back for more. Other than that, you can visit the London court that located in the area!

6. Crawley Edge Boatshed (Blue Boat House)
The blue boat house is an instagrammable place and I'm pretty sure you will love the view too! Depends on when you go, some of the time you have to wait for your turn to take a picture. So make sure to be patient because it will be worth it. 😉
Take note that there is no designated parking area when you drive here. What I do is we park at Matilda Bay which is free during a certain time and date. But if you're coming here by bus, walk or cycling found out other ways to come here.

7. Matilda Bay Reserve
You can witness tons of good things at Matilda Bay, Swan River, Pelican and outdoor wedding! My suggestion is just to bring some picnic mat and foods to just enjoy the view. I found this place accidentally when we look out for parking to go to Blue Boat House, I would say it was such an awesome coincidence!

8. Sandboarding at Lanceline Sand Dunes
We have a bittersweet experience at Lanceline Sand Dunes, our car tire got stuck in the sand but we got to do sandboarding. Well, my only advice is to make sure look out for parking spots and don't be too clumsy like me and go straight to the sand, thank god we get a help to pull our car.
Another tip is to wear sunscreen, hats and come in the morning to avoid a scorching hot day. If you want to rent a surfboard, you can look out for a big truck near the parking and rent it for $10 for two hours or so. By the way, you can also reserve online so your spot is secure!
Learn from a mistake - don't go to the sand if you didn't drive a 4WD car. |
Park at the designated area |
Rent your surfboarding here at $10 exclude deposit |
Once you get your surfboard - climb to the sand mountain and start sandboarding |
You can also strike a pose with the surfboard |
It's a bit higher but I manage to maintain my cool face expression 😂 |
9. Pinnacles Desert
Once you on the road to Lanceline Sand Dunes, just go straight to Pinnacles Desert and your long hour's drive is completed! Basically, you can see huge limestone pillars and take a picture with them.
The places are really hot to be in the afternoon so, we decided to drive around the one-way area. No worries! parking bays are provided around it if you want to stop. But if you decided to walk also acceptable! Either way, make sure to go to their lookout point and complete your tour in Pinnacles Desert.

I don't want to lie, it's very hot here in Pinnacles. |

10. Scarborough Beach
To show how much I love this beach, I even went to Scarborough Beach twice while I was in Perth. If you bring your swimming suit you can swim here and learn how to surf! I would say the area is quite new because there are some facilities such as skateboard park aren't done yet, but that doesn't stop people to come and enjoy the view.
The best part is we get to enjoy their summer markets on Thursday nights. Take note that the Scarborough Sunset Markets only available during summer time only. No worries because there are Halal eateries such as Bunga Raya Satay. #summeristhebest

Getting there: 40 min drive from The Fawzi Muslim Homestay

Before I visit Perth for 11 days, I heard so many feedbacks from the people around me shocked by it. Most of them ask what do you want to go there for that long time? Well, my feedback is no matter where you travel, there is always something you can do and enjoy. Honestly, I have a very good rest at Perth, the people there are friendly and I enjoy every second of it especially the beaches. I get it that people preferences might be different but let's just enjoy every bit of it!
