Review: dUCk Cosmetics Matte Decisions Lip Cream in Fearless Lane

dUCk is a well known local brand in Malaysia. Starting their business from scarf they are now moving on to a cosmetics line arena. Does they have what it takes to be an ultimate favourite of beauty lover? Let's find out here!

My journey getting dUCk cosmetics was a little bit different. I still remember the excitement and high expectation that I felt during their product launch on 2nd September 2017. It was the most anticipated cosmetic line during that time.

Here's how it all happened: The moment I opened my eyes on that day, I open my laptop and place an order online. I decided to do that because I thought it would be same case when their scarf launch (sold out and website breakdown). But, I didn't go through that hurdle (not that I wanted to).

Take note that they also opened #duckcosmetics store at Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur on the same date. I wasn't planning to go there at first place because I can imagined the situation would be.

After long decision, I decided to get two items: #nofilter make up remover brightening and Matte Decisions Lip Cream in Fearless Lane (RM75).

Of course, I wait the order to process and so on. But, you know what, it took four day for me to received the parcel. Which was a bit unacceptable. I get it they just launch their product - yada - yada - give them a break. NAAH!

Plus, I imagined to get an information card in conjunction of their new born cosmetic line, but I realised you need to go to their offline store to received it.

My first impression when opening the parcel would be "the packaging is really nice". Obviously, it was meant to be an Insta worthy shot. Despite all the rough start, I am excited to try this out from the moment I saw one of their Marketing team try and explained about the lip cream.

Building up to second layer and compare with the first layer.

I know that you might said that my review is invalid because this is my first metallic lip cream that I owned. BUT I know how metallic should looks and feels like.  Let list out all of the ingredients first shall we?

INGREDIENTS: Isododecane, Diisostearyl Malate, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Ceresin, Beeswax, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Propylene Carbonate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Fragrance, Benzotriazolyl Dodecyl p-Cresol, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-t-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Mica. [May Contain. +/- CI 15850 (Red 7 Lake), CI 77491 (Iron Oxides), CI 77492 (Iron Oxides), CI 77499 (Iron Oxides), CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide)].

Another thing that they didn't mentioned on the website are: Formulated in the United Kingdom and Made in China. The good news is that they tell you about the shelf life which can last up until 36 month.

One day timeline wearing the lip crea

After looking at all the packaging and such, I smell the lip creme first and it was like a smell of a used rubber band. To confirm about it I sniff once more.

Then I applied onto my lips, it wasn't as I imagined it would be. Metallic? Nope, more towards glittery. I heard a tip that depends on your liking and how pop the colour you want it to be, build it up as much as you can.

I only did two layer and it was okay. Actually, the first swipe also already cover up my whole lips. But, in order to get it evenly I have to do another coat.

As you can see on one-day timeline above, it does last long. Other than that, they claiming to be smudge and kiss proof. Well, if smudging test wasn't succeed so does for kiss proof.

One thing I noticed after I ate or drink (refer to picture on 6:00 PM) the colour doesn't budge around that much, but I notice the glitter came up on my spoon, forks and straw.

WILL I REPURCHASED IT?

After long consideration, I will not repurchase this lip creme. I don't feel comfortable wearing it, and wasn't truly metallic.

I just hope with the price that they sell (which RM75 for this item), they will made an improvement in terms of getting the formula right.

No heart feelings here. One more thing, whether I bought with my own money or sponsored. I will make sure to write my honest opinion about anything.
